Time To Pray For Preachers of The Gospel

In Romans 10:17 the bible says: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Greek for God, as rendered in this verse of scripture, is Christo (and not really Theo). Christo is Greek for Christ and the Bible is clear on the truth that Christ is God. Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1, 1 John 5:7. This implies that what The Holy Spirit is conveying through Apostle Paul in Romans 10:17 is that faith results when the gospel (the good news of Jesus and all He represents – salvation, the gift of righteousness, deliverance from all the works of Satan) is heard.

Preaching prejudice and tradition is sheer waste of time of those who gather to worship Jesus. Only the unalloyed preaching of Jesus will bring about overcoming faith and miracles. I John 5:5

We can help preachers the world over to preach the gospel by upholding them in prayers so they stay focused on the gospel, the only hope of humanity. 2 Corinthians 3:5

Should we then scrap the Old Testament? Says who? Jesus did not come to abrogate the O.T. but to fulfill it. ( Matthew 5:17). It was a shadow of things to come. Colossians 2:16-17. The Old Testament was Jesus concealed and the New Testament is Jesus revealed. Therefore, pastors are free to preach from both testaments but they must do so from the perspective of Jesus.

Everything in the O.T foreshadows Jesus. The curse has been changed to blessings when Jesus, who came full of grace and truth, showed up. John 1:14,17, Galatians 3:13; the need to be righteous by self-effort has been replaced with the gift of righteousness from Jesus. Isaiah 64:6, Romans 5:17

If preachers will stay focussed on Jesus in their sermons, lives will be beautifully turned around and miracles in the church will not be the exclusive preserve of a few ministers of the gospel. The church of Jesus will reign with Him on earth. Romans 5:17

Dear reader, be sure you have embraced the good news of Jesus by believing He offered Himself for your sins on the cross of Calvary. He has died for humanity’s sin. Stop carrying yours, John 1:29

Let us pray: O Lord, starting from this Sunday, please let your Spirit make preachers everywhere preach the gospel of Jesus and not their conjectures in Jesus name. Amen!
