How Great To Be On Jesus Payroll
Whatever you do, as a child of God, remember you are supposed to be an ambassador of Christ. Please see 2 Corinthians 5:21. Therefore, anything that cannot be found in Christ must not be found in your life and activities.
I was thoroughly blessed reading one of my daily devotionals (The Reflections of a Kingdom Boy aka Kingdomnomics – you may google it!) today. Please let me share its tail end with you for your reflection. Here goes: “Each Christian is an instrument of God with a purpose to worship and serve him. God’s people are spread throughout the earth at all levels of society for the purpose of expanding his Kingdom. What a privilege to be granted such a role! Let’s take advantage of the opportunities God gives us to serve.
Today, ask yourself:
Have I found my place in God’s service yet? Regardless of my circumstances, am I maintaining a proper attitude of trust, so God can be free to work through me?” End of quote.
Of what value is a life expended on self? The only life assured of rich and unimaginable dividends, for now and eternity, is the one spent doing the will of God. I Corinthians 10:31, I Timothy 4:8. Which reminds me of the only regret I have following Jesus – I didn’t do so much earlier! Thank God for His patience in renewing me and fixing all the mess I made of my life before I met Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17. He does just that for all who come to Him by Christ Jesus.
Jesus is the fairest employer anyone can work with. You don’t have to be a pastor, an evangelist, a missionary or some monk, to serve Him. There are people in other vocations whose lives far more glorify God than some of those in ministry, who are in it for fame or for want of thing to do or, worse still, for their bellies.
If you remember that first and foremost you are a Christian who happens to be a doctor, carpenter, pilot, soldier or whatever your vocation is, Jesus Is your Ultimate Employer. If, however, you are, first and foremost, a doctor, carpenter, pilot, soldier or whatever you do for a living, who happens to be a Christian, your belly is your god! This shows clearly that being in ministry is not foolproof of being in God’s service.
Jesus Is A Great Employer, who will be more than willing to sign on anyone of any age who wishes to spend the rest of his life serving Him (Jesus), in whatever he does. The only prerequisite for getting on the payroll of Jesus is to accept Him as your Lord and Saviour and then dedicate the rest of your life to His Glory. No age barrier for His recruitment. So don’t let the devil rob you of this wisest of decisions man could ever take.
Enjoy your midweek!
